Travelers are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), a free service offered by the US government for US citizens traveling or residing abroad. STEP provides updates, travel advisories, and important information in times of disaster, assisting the State Department in providing support to its citizens.
